black and white film Nikon F PC Nikkor 35mm f2.8 Arista Premium 400 HC-110

At the start of 2022 we managed to get a week away at Yanakie in South Gippsland. Holidays always mean a bit of free time to do some photography. These photos are from a short walk which starts at the caravan park and goes to Duck Point.

I have shot them with a Nikon F and the PC Nikkor 1:2.8 35mm lens. I have had this lens for many years as I convinced myself that I was going to take heaps of architectural photos and so needed a shift lens. I have not used it much up till now though. It works really well and in the photo above you can see that it even does ok straight into the sun.

The film used was Arista Premium 400 which is quite expired now but is still working okay. I bought a reasonable stash of this some years ago because it was rumored to be tri-x in different packaging. I developed the the film in HC-110. Once the stash is used I will have to start paying the inflated prices for black and white film which have become just part of the film experience.

Here are some shots of Corner Inlet itself. I took quite a few so I will divide the results up into a few posts.

There were quite a few sea urchin shells washed up at the tide line, these have great patterns. I did not take the micro nikkor though so this was as close as I could get.

These are the water ones. I'll be back with more thoughts and photos from this little walk soon.
